General questions

Where to buy Sojade products?

Sojade products are available in organic and health food stores. If you can’t find them, ask at the stores. Sometimes they can order the products.

I have a claim regarding a product, who should I contact?

For complaints, use the contact form on our website. If you let us know which product it is, as well as the use-by date and batch number, we will be able to examine your complaint. We will then contact you once we have investigated.

Are all Sojade products organic?

Yes, all Sojade products are made with ingredients from certified organic farming that complies with European organic farming regulations.

Are all Sojade products vegetarian and/or vegan?

Yes, all our products are entirely plant-based and certified vegan.

Why does liquid sometimes form on yoghurt alternatives?

As we are keen to keep our list of ingredients as ‘clean’ as possible, we accept that a little liquid may form after a while. However, simply stirring the product after opening will quickly remedy this. The taste of the product is not affected by this and it can be consumed normally.

Allergens

Are Sojade products lactose-free?

All Sojade products are naturally lactose-free.

Ingredients

Is sugar added to Sojade products? Are there sugar free products?

Our plain soya yoghurt alternative and our plain greek style alternative are sugar-free. Our fruit varieties contain added organic raw cane sugar. We add it because it gives fruit preparations a more intense and consistent flavour – sugar enhances the taste of the fruit. In recent years, however, we have increasingly reduced the sugar content of the varieties so that we only use the sugar necessary for a good taste experience. For those who don’t want sugar, we also offer a range of fruit varieties with no added sugar: these are sweetened with concentrated apple juice and contain less sugar. These include our kefir alternatives and three fruit varieties: mango, banana-passion fruit and blueberry-cherry.

Why can bacterial cultures be used in vegan products?

Ferments are living micro-organisms. Although they are referred to as “living”, they have no central nervous system and are therefore not conscious and cannot feel pain. By definition, they are therefore vegan.
The term lactic acid bacteria (lactobacillus) can also lead to confusion, but they are only called this because they were discovered in milk. They transform milk, but have only an indirect relationship with it. Lactobacillus acidophilus, for example, is present in our yoghurt alternatives.

Are Sojade products pasteurized?

It is essential that our products are pasteurized, both for quality and safety reasons. However, this must be done before fermentation, otherwise the ferments will die.

Do Sojade products contain or add calcium?

No, we don’t add calcium to our products because we want them to be as natural as possible. Soya naturally contains calcium, but much less than milk. Calcium is very important for a balanced diet, which is why a vegan diet should be filled with other calcium-containing foods, such as green vegetables.

How much protein do soya products contain? Can they replace the animal products?

In terms of protein content, soya and cow’s milk products are comparable. On average, they contain a similar amount of protein, making them more popular than other plant-based yoghurt alternatives, such as oat, almond and rice.

What additives are used in your products?

Our products contain no artificial additives. The additives we use in certain products are of natural origin and are used to maintain texture: Agar-Agar, pectin (from part of lemon zest) and locust bean gum. All are used to guarantee a beautiful texture.

Why do some products contain natural flavourings?

We only use natural organic flavourings, and only from the fruit itself that goes into the product. Some fruits need to be strengthened in the blend, so a natural flavouring, dosed in very small quantities, can enhance the taste of the fruit, making the product more flavourful and tasty.

All about soya

Where does the soya that Sojade uses come from?

Our soya comes exclusively from France. We’ve been working with and visiting our farmers for a long time, so we can guarantee that our soya comes from organic farming.

Sustainability

How do I dispose of plastic pots properly?

To dispose of the plastic cup correctly, separate the aluminium lid, the banderole and the plastic cup. The plastic cup and lid should be disposed of in the yellow bag (plastic waste), the banderole in the paper bin.
But the best is to follow your national guideline.

Is your banner made from recycled paper?

Yes, it is.

Is your soya destroying the rainforest?

No, we buy our soya exclusively from French farmers with whom we have been working for a long time. So our soya does not come from the rainforest.
